September Meeting: Helpful Links for Adobe AIR

Hi everyone,

Sorry I didn’t get to this sooner but here are some links where you can explore AIR applications already built and some links to information on developing AIR applications.

Adobe AIR Home Page: http://www.adobe.com/products/air/
From here you can get to the AIR showcase, read about benefits of using AIR for business, browser vs. desktop, download the AIR SDK, and much more…

Adobe AIR Resources: http://www.adobe.com/support/documentation/en/air/
This is also part of the Adobe’s web site and includes helpful links to tutorials and other resources available on the web.

Flex.org: http://flex.org/
This site is a wealth of resources for developing apps with Flex including AIR applications.  I also recommend installing the “Tour de Flex” application, found on the home page.  It contains Flex applications and includes the source code and resources.  It’s very helpful for learning the capabilities Flex has to offer.

AS3 Class Diagram Viewer: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/marketplace/index.cfm?event=marketplace.offering&marketplaceid=1&offeringid=10364
If you’re not familiar with AS3 just yet, there is an AIR application available, called the ActionScript Class Diagram Viewer, which shows the ActionScript 3.0 Class Chart and allows you to zoom in to view all the sub-classes and language.  It can be downloaded from Adobe Marketplace for free.

If anyone has additional resources to add, please do so.  The more the merrier. ;-)

Thanks everyone!

Scott
