
J. Schuh began his career in Animation working for LSG Animation doing 2D animation, illustration and design. He started his own company Toons-N-Design (www.toonsndesign.com) in 1998. He later helped start a local animation studio Element X Creative in 2004.
J. is one of the founders of A Bunch of Short Guys, a local animators guild that helps promote the animation, video game and visual fx community. A Bunch of Short Guys has an annual event Industry Giants that brings speakers from companies like DNA Animation, Troublemaker Studios, Sony Imageworks, Zoic Studios, Pixar and Disney.
In 2005 J. started another organization called the GUILD (Graphical User Interactive Learning and Development). The GUILD is a training based multimedia organization dedicated to the career development of students and industry professionals. He is currently on the steering committee to help start a local chapter of Women in Animation.
He is also involved in local and national professional organizations and is a member of the DFW Adobe User Group, Dallas Producers Association, Dallas Society of Visual Communicators and National Association of Photoshop Professionals.
J. is an adjunct professor at Collin County Community College and Texas A&M Commerce downtown Dallas. He has taught Animation, Art Direction, Multimedia and Storyboard classes using Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Flash.
He is an award winning animator, cartoonist, designer, illustrator and producer. J’s clients include American Heart Association, American Standard, AVON, Cingular, Circle R Media, FedEx Kinko’s, JCPenny’s, Mary Kay Inc, RadioShack, Sherwin Williams, Shore Deary, Toyota, and Uniden.
In his spare time, J. enjoys spending time with his wife Rachel, 2 year old son Benjamin and 8 month old daughter Emily. He is currently developing stories and ideas for animated series and his own short animated films.
