Does anybody else remember Flash 4?

Hi everyone,

I've been working with Flash for a long time now. I'm relatively new to Photoshop, but I've used it nearly every business day for a year now. The same goes for Dreamweaver. I'm a web developer working in Dallas who uses Adobe software every day. I've really been looking for a good community of skilled professionals and I'm glad to have found one. Currently I use Windows and have recently been dipping my toes into Linux.

I found the DFW Adobe users group through Google groups and Kevin Stagg was kind enough to point me to this site. Please leave a comment or say hi if you have time. I'm very interested in any web/design/tech related events in the DFW area as well as news of new product releases.

Cheers,
Bill

Hey Bill - welcome aboard!

I'm loving me some Adobe software myself. Obviously, right? Anyway, I find myself using the following CS4 tools most often: Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash, and Soundbooth. I use Captivate 4 as well. Fireworks is probably my favorite tool of the bunch as it just seems so intuitive. I've been using it for years.

I've been dabbling with Linux 9.4 and Linux Mint 7 myself. But to be honest, I keep asking myself why I keep putting myself through it all. Admittedly the latter OS' are cool as all get-out and the price is right (FREE) but I don't have any plans to ditch my Windows Vista Ultimate system (since Adobe can't run on Linux) - and I don't plan on buying another PC in the near future. I guess it's just the geek in me.

There just seems to be so much tweaking you have to do to get the audio working, or the visual effects "just so" - know what I mean? I guess if I had to, I would be ok in buying a laptop linux system now compared to before - but like I said, not ready to dump microsoft now. Especially with Windows 7 around the corner.

Our next meeting of the group will be a virtual meeting online (our first ever) while we scout for a new meeting location as the place where we've been meeting since the beginning has been sold. Keep an eye out on our website for more info.

Keep in touch!

Kevin
